MacKenzie McGuckin

President

MacKenzie originally from New Jersey moved to sunny South Florida in 2015 to attend Florida Atlantic University.  Born into an avid boating family she was introduced to the waterfront before she could walk and has spent much of her life engaging in waterfront activities up and down the east coast.  As a result, MacKenzie is an accomplished sailing coach, sailor, and very amateur fisher(wo)man.

MacKenzie has worked in Youth Sailing for as long as she can remember from being the Head Optimist Green Fleet Coach at Lauderdale Yacht Club to the Sailing Program Manager at Lakewood Yacht Club, and from being the Sailing Director at The WaterFront Center to US Sailing’s Florida Regional Coach for the Siebel Sailors Program.  She also holds the position of the USODA’s Development Team and Horizon Program’s National Co-Director providing youth training clinics, international events, and top-level Optimist coaching to rising eager athletes who have big goals of becoming the best they can be while providing exciting, safe, and positive learning environment.

With her mission to share her fervor for being on the water, she now is the General Manager of Loggerhead Marina at Palm Beach Gardens.  Her goal as the new manager of the property is to help all boaters be better stewards of the environment while instilling confidence in each boater that will last them a lifetime full of unforgettable memories wherever their boat takes them.

As the President of the Youth Sailing Foundation of the Palm Beaches, MacKenzie hopes to strengthen and grow youth sailing across Palm Beach County. She knows the importance of engaging parents and sailors to foster continued participation and breed lifelong sailors. MacKenzie is very excited to be a part of the YSFPB and looks forward to motivating, inspiring, and igniting the passion of youth sailors while promoting a safe and positive learning environment.
