Hillary grew up in Michigan in a family of sailors; both her dad and grandparents were avid sailors.  Hillary did not inherit the sailor genes, but she is married to a professional sailor and is a sailor-mom extraordinaire. Hillary has witnessed first hand how sailing can quickly transform young lives through the experience with her own daughters.  Sailing has transformed her daughters into confident, motivated and independent young athletes.  Hillary wants to make sure that other children in the community have the same opportunities.  Hillary brings her background in philanthropy and experience on other foundations, including youth boards.  She also brings her degree in Fine Arts from Western Michigan University which is instrumental in helping the foundation with marketing, photography, social media, and donor relations.
